I thought a lot of folks out there could benefit from learning how to with introverted people.
I drove my ex crazy by being introverted. He thought that I was being "distant" and "purposely ignoring him as part of a passive-aggressive power play". Here I was just enjoying his company without talking.

Thank you so much for this! I'm currently in the military and being an introvert in this field is not an easy task. I'm surrounded by extroverts daily at my job, and when I get off, It's time to relax and kickback with a good book, video game or movie. But I'm frowned upon by my co-workers when I don't show up at a party they invite me too, or I never answer their phone calls. Truthfully, I get a little depressed because I always seem like I'm the only one in the world who acts this way. But then I see things like this and it helps me create a better understanding of myself and why I act the way I do. Once again, thank you.

Maybe I should pass this along to a friend of mind who suddenly decided that, for some reason, I didn't want to be his friend. All because I declined going to social events every weekend, and because I was busy doing more important things than jibber-jabbering on the phone for hours at a time--like work and homework.

I see your point about respecting peoples personal space, but I have to say that I think introversion is selfish. The idea that introverted people have 'precious energy' that they have to be very careful about spending i think demonstrates this. Extroverted people understand that sometimes you have to do things you dont want to do, but you do it anyway because it makes other people happy, and thats the way I think it should be. And I do take it as an insult when an introvert doesnt want to spend time with me because it's essentially saying that I'm not worth his/her 'precious energy'. If you do things for other people, they will do things for you, and maybe thats why extroverts tend to be much happier people and enjoy life more.
